What is new Clairol Professional Premium Crème?

A technologically advanced line of 46 permanent crème haircolors in a 9 Tonal Pillar System developed for ease of custom formulating. Premium Crème is the first color developed by the Clairol Professional ColorLAB to utilize the benefits of Soy. No other professional haircolor contains Deep-Conditioning Soy Complex, for:

  • Amazing reflective shine
  • Amazing rich color
  • Amazing silken conditioning you can feel right at the sink!

Premium Crèmes are mixed with Premium Crème Dedicated Developer for bowl-and-brush application, and give the stylist the freedom to confidently create radiant customized color that comes alive with healthy shine.

Why don’t you call it “Miss Clairol Professional Premium Crème”?

Clairol Professional Premium Crème is a completely new product line, separate from the heritage line, Miss Clairol Professional. Many of the new Premium Crème shades match Miss Clairol liquid shades for the creative convenience of stylists who may prefer bowl-and-brush application, but want to maintain a client's current haircolor.

Is Premium Crème on a Level and Tone System?

Yes. The 46 shades are organized into 9 calibrated Tonal Pillars based on the standard Level and Tone system.

Who is the colorist for Premium Crème?

The color was specifically developed for the stylist who seeks a high-quality crème haircolor made for professionals, with superior conditioning, incredibly healthy shine and beautiful color results. This stylist seeks a color palette that is simple to formulate and allows him/her to intermix shades, be creative, and create beautiful, customized color results for clients.

How is Premium Crème formula superior to other tube colors on the market?

Premium Crème is the only color containing deep-conditioning SOY Complex. The benefits of soy have been utilized in skin-care products, shampoos and conditioners, but Clairol Professional has infused the benefits of soy into its Premium Crème haircolor formula to deliver superior conditioning benefits to the hair.

What does Deep-Conditioning Soy Complex do?

Soy, a natural source of Vitamins A and È, contains antioxidants and acts as an emollient, moisturizing and conditioning the hair, and sealing in color. Our exclusive formula:

  • Nourishes as it colors for deeply conditioned hair, incredibly healthy shine.
  • Helps smooth the hair shaft to protect the integrity of hair.
  • Contains smoothing properties that deliver reflective shine.
  • Conditions brunette hair (Levels 5-1) at a superior level.

In test after test, stylists using new Clairol Professional Premium Crème immediately noticed the improved, silky condition of the hair while rinsing at the sink. Porous, damaged areas, bathed with the Soy Complex formula, show healthy, radiant color with an amazing healthy shine!

What makes Clairol Professional Premium Crème the stylist’s optimal choice for clients?

Clairol Professional has been a leader in haircolor technology for 75 years, creating trusted colors known for beautiful, reliable, proven results. Premium Crème utilizes the newest in innovative science from a trusted, proven manufacturer:

  • Deep-conditioning Soy Complex formula that nourishes as it colors. The line also contains smoothing properties that deliver reflective shine.
  • New versatile color palette expands your customized color options.
  • Unique new 9 Tonal Pillar palette makes custom-colors easy to formulate.
  • Precisely calibrated, intermixable* shades for predictable true-to-tone Levels and Tones.

What are the 9 Tonal Pillars?

The 9 Tonal Pillars give stylists the confidence to create custom colors. Based on the standard Level and Tone system, and on how stylists learn color theory in beauty school, the calibrated system gives colorists the flexibility to intermix shades within a Tonal Pillar, or between Tonal Pillars, with predictable results. The complete 46-shade palette also gives less experienced colorists perfect shade choices without intermixing. Colorists and their clients can grow with the palette, as the 9 Tonal Pillars offer pure-tone flexibility and complete gray coverage.

When formulating for a client, when would I choose a GN, RN, NN or N shade?

The shades in the 4 Tonal Pillars with an "N" designator are designed to deliver 100% gray coverage with more natural-looking tones. There is no need to add an additional neutral-based shade to the formula.
GN - Gold Neutral shades provide a more natural-looking gold with 100% gray coverage.
RN - Red Neutral shades provide a more natural-looking red with 100% gray coverage.
NN - Ultra Riche Neutral shades offer 100% coverage for gray hair, with rich, warm, natural results.
N - Neutral shades provide a blended Neutral tone for resistant-gray clients who want 100% gray coverage.

When would I choose an RR red shade?

The high-intensity reds were developed specifically to provide one-step vivid, deep red results, even on the darkest hair.

Do Miss Clairol liquid shades match Premium Crème shades?

The majority of Premium Crème shades have a matching Miss Clairol shade, and the Numbers are printed on the front of the Premium Crème packages.

Why have the Shade Numbers of the matching Miss Clairol liquid shades been changed for the Premium Crème line? For example, why is Miss Clairol 35G called 5GN in the Premium Crème line?

The Premium Crème line is an entirely new color line based on the Level & Tone System and organized into 9 Tonal Pillars for ease in formulating. When Premium Crème shades were formulated to match existing Miss Clairol shades, the Level and Base designators needed to reflect the calibrated Level & Tone System used to develop the Premium Crème line.

Does Clairol Professional Premium Crème use a Dedicated Developer?

Yes. Premium Crème Developer is formulated to create optimal bowl-and-brush application when mixed with Premium Crème shades. It provides superior viscosity and is available in 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-volume strengths for the widest range of creative control.

If I prefer bottle application, can I still use the Dedicated Developer?

Premium Crème colors were developed to be mixed with Premium Crème Developer for optimal bowl-and-brush application and optimal results. However, if a stylist prefers bottle application, all Premium Crème shades, except for the 4 high-lift shades (12N, 12A, 12GN, 12G), can be mixed with Clairol Professional Clairoxide liquid developer. The 4 high-lift shades should be used only with bowl-and-brush application.
